Harry Potter Feels the Burn

Harry, in an attempt to overcome the pain of his curse scar, has taken up self-harm. Here we see him using his wand to burn himself -- see the other burn marks and scar on his arm?

Third in a series, illustrating my fanfic "Without Wand or Wire". Not really staying consistent with the styles, am I? *G* Also spending far more time on the images than I'd planned to. Maybe thats the key, to say that I'm NOT going to do something, since I tend to do the opposite of what I say, LOL

Anyway, the arm, head, and wand-hand were all drawn in pencil seperately, and scanned. I then duplicated the image a bunch of times, each layer having different colour balance, hue, satutration, contast, etc, and did a lot of erasing to show what I wanted where. Then I'd compile a bunch of layers, and duplicate that image, and repeat, until I got the right highlights, shadows, colours, etc. It's a method I've used for a good long while now, and find it works quite nicely for colouring grayscale stuff without losing the details.
