I am *not* happy about the fact that Scarlett, after about 25 years of being paired with Snake-Eyes in the comics, is paired with Ripcord instead in the new movie. Talk about a punch in the gut -- and here I was really looking forward to the possibility of seeing one of my all-time fave pairings on the big screen! I ended up writing an article on how ticked I am, for (the now-defunct) Pink Raygun. And I know I'm not the only person upset by this; if you're a die-hard Snake-Eyes/Scarlett fan, like me, feel free to post this stamp in your journal, on your site, whatever.

I've seen the scenes, lines and dialog from Renegades, but nothing was said or shown that went beyond a close friendship. Despite the history they had together, or one that they very briefly talked about having on the show, none of that made a differences or meant that it was going to lead to something more.
A pro-Scarlett/Snake show would mean more than just simply working together as partners and friends since past GI Joe cartoons have already done that. It would mean having moments in which they share something special together (but instead they gave that to Duke), a kiss and a "I love you." None of that happen and until that does, there's been no pro-Scarlett/Snake GI Joe animated series at all. Hell, I don't even think Larry Hama himself has ever have them kiss or implied that they have ever had sex.
Once again, the 80s cartoon only showed a friendship, Scarlett would have shown the same concerned for any of the GI Joe members in that situation. But that scene in episode The MASS Device comes across as desperate to use as if that's any proof of something going on between them.
